I need some type of hair fastener to hold my granddaughters hair back. It is always falling in her face.?

My 6 year old granddaughter has very silky hair and we cannot find any type of barrette, ponytail holder, rubberband or any type of hair fastener that will stay in her hair. I have talked to hair dressers and beauty supply people and no one has any answers. She does not want to have her hair cut off but it is always in the way. Her bangs have been cut, but the rest of her hair needs something to hold it back. Her hair is thick but very soft and barrettes, etc just fall out within 15 to 20 minutes of normal activity. If we braid it the rubberband holding the braid falls off. Any ideas out there? A brand name you may have used for the same problem? Your help is greatly appreciated.
