What's the difference between a moth and a small mosquito?

Moths have 4 usually opaque wings. Mosquitos have 2 transparent (but sometimes dark like stained gl) wings. Moths generally have shorther legs than mosquitos. Moths don't bite, while with mosquitos it's usually only the females that bite. However, there are so many kinds of insects, that your description alone doesn't really provide enough information as to what it was.
